National Brew Day/ Cinco De Mayo Brew Day

Saturday May 5th, 2012 is National Brew Day

In 1988, May 7th was announced before Congress as National Homebrew Day. The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) created AHA Big Brew as an annual event to celebrate National Homebrew Day around the world. AHA Big Brew is held each year on the first Saturday in May.

Homebrewing has been practiced in America since the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock. Today there are an estimated 750,000 homebrewers in the U.S. Homebrewers are passionate about brewing beer and love to share that passion with others.AHA Big Brew gives homebrewers an opportunity to get together all over the world to share their love for the hobby.

Please invite you friends and family to join us at The Beer and Wine Makers Pantry on 66th Street. We will be setting up around 9:00AM. Kettles should be boiling by 10:00AM. Food and beer will be offered so if you have ever had anyone ask you “How do you do make beer?” this is the one to bring them to!

Hope to see you soon!
